SOFTSWISS is an international technology brand headquartered in Gżira, Malta, with development centres in Poland and Georgia. The company develops software for affiliate marketing, as well as payment processing services and licensing infrastructure for the game industry. It is also known for its early integration of cryptocurrencies into the iGaming industry.

History

[edit]

In 2009, SOFTSWISS was founded as a brand offering web design and web development services and transitioned into the iGaming sector in 2012.[2][3][4]

In 2013, SOFTSWISS became one of the first companies to introduce cryptocurrency payments in online casinos.[5][6][7]

In 2020, the company established its head office in Gżira, Malta. It then expanded its development network with centres in Poznań, Poland (2021), Tbilisi, Georgia (2022) and Warsaw, Poland (2023).[8]

In 2023, SOFTSWISS won Best Aggregator at both the SiGMA Eurasia Awards[9] and the SiGMA Europe Awards,[10] was honoured as Platform Provider of the Year at the SiGMA Americas Awards, received the B2B Marketing Campaign award at the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards,[11] and the Aggregator Platform award at the EGR B2B Awards.[12]

In January 2024, SOFTSWISS was awarded the Great Place to Work certificate in Poland.[13]

In January 2024, SOFTSWISS acquired a majority stake in Turfsport, a South African company specialising in the development of wagering software for sports betting, horse racing, and lotto.[14]

In April 2024, SOFTSWISS acquired a stake in Ously Games GmbH, a German company that operates the social casino platform SpinArena.net. The investment marked SOFTSWISS’ entry into the social affiliate marketing segment, with plans to expand its software offerings for this market.[15]

At the same time, the Brazilian racer Rubens Barrichello was appointed SOFTSWISS’ Non-Executive Director in Latin America, aiming to enhance the company’s presence in the region.[16][17][18][19]

Besides collaboration with Rubens Barichello, SOFTSWISS works closely with the Barrichello family. In February 2025, the company announced its partnership with Eduardo Barrichello for the 2025 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC).[20]

SOFTSWISS also collaborates with the Barrichello Family Institute on charity projects.[21]

In 2024, the company repeated its successes in B2B Marketing Campaign and Aggregator Platform at the EGR Marketing & Innovation[22] and EGR B2B Awards respectively in Aggregator Platform category.[23]

In 2025, SOFTSWISS claimed Best Marketing Campaign and Best Platform at the SiGMA Africa Awards[24] and was honored with Best Advertising and Marketing Campaign and Best Customer Service Award at the European iGaming Awards.[25]

In 2025, SOFTSWISS was named Platform Provider of the Year at the AffPapa iGaming Awards 2025,[26] and won Marketing Team of the Year at the EGR Marketing & Innovation Awards 2025.[27]

Licences and certifications

[edit]

SOFTSWISS is licensed and regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority Critical Gaming Supplies licence number MGA/B2B/942/202.[28]

In 2023, SOFTSWISS received GLI-19 and GLI-33 certifications from Gaming Laboratories International.[29]

In March 2024, SOFTSWISS was granted the first Tobique B2B licence by the Tobique Gaming Commission,[30] and in August, it obtained a licence to operate in South Africa.[31]

In 2025, SOFTSWISS expanded its international presence by securing certifications in Brazil and Peru.[32][33]

Social responsibility

[edit]

In May 2024, in response to severe flooding in Brazil’s Rio Grande do Sul state, SOFTSWISS launched a charity initiative to support affected communities. The company collaborated with Movimento União BR and PWTECH to deliver essential supplies and install water purification equipment in local schools.[34][35]

Later that year, following floods in southern Poland caused by Storm Boris, SOFTSWISS made a financial donation to the Wielka Orkiestra Świątecznej Pomocy, a Polish charity organisation. In November 2024, SOFTSWISS was awarded for its contribution to the development of Poznań.[36]
